Information for

Dog & Cat Breeders

Highlands Mobile Vet offers heavily discounted breeder services (to registered breeders with a breeder identification number) as an incentive to ensure puppy and kitten litters receive appropriate veterinary treatments.

Vaccinations

Puppy (C3) and Kitten (F3) vaccinations start at $65 per animal for litter sizes between 2-10. All animals will also receive a ‘health passport’ with a record of the vaccination and the due date of the next vaccination.

Health Checks

Every puppy/kitten who is given a vaccination by Highlands Mobile Vet receives a thorough physical examination. This includes monitoring for common heritable or congenital problems such as heart murmurs, hernias, jaw malocclusions, luxating patellas and conformational anomalies, among others.

Microchipping

It is a legal requirement for all puppies/kittens to be vaccinated before they leave your property. The discounted litter rate for puppies and kittens if done with a vaccination is $25 per animal. This includes upload into the NSW Pet Registry but does not include council registration, which is the breeders responsibility.

Desexing

The Highlands Mobile Vet day surgery is able to facilitate desexing procedures. It operates on Tuesdays by prior appointments only. A 10% discount applies to registered breeders desexing multiple animals at the same time.

Remember, any individual who has bred a litter of puppies or kittens on their property (planned or accidental) is required by law to have a breeder identification number, and the bitch/queen must have an active microchip in order for the microchip to be uploaded.
